About Me

My name is Tom Dearden. I was born in Hammersmith, West London in April 1980, my mother screaming to turn the footy off the telly. I have supported Queen's Park Rangers since my first game in April 1988 - ouch!

I finished school in 1998 with 11 GCSE's and 3 A-Levels. I graduated Southampton Institute's Media & Cultural Studies degree 2002 before 2 years travelling. I have recently completed and self-published two novels:

(1) The Dr Bumfleece Experiment for an MA Novel Writing degree at Manchester University (June 2006).

(2) Stagger - completed 10 December 2009 - click here to view

I am an author and amateur photographer available for hire as a Wedding/Band/Events photographer or to write articles (see published items in articles section of  Writing). I am currently co-writing a partly animated superhero sitcom. My interests include: film, music, cartoons, comedy, languages and sports. These include playing: golf, cricket, football, cycling, swimming, snowboarding, kite flying, fishing and ultimate frisbee. I have also raised approximately £1000 for charities with a bungee jump, a sky dive, and walking a marathon in a 40DD bra. I also partake in an annual cricket match that raises £1000 every time for Cancer Research UK.

My dream is to have a novel published, a play staged in the West End, a film script made into a cult film, and write comedy whilst travelling the world. I can be contacted at e-mail: tomdearden@yahoo.co.uk or on +44 7779 579 961.
